We are on the hunt for a Gallery and Workshops Assistant to join our team.



Gaffa is a creative precinct and gallery that supports emerging artists and small creative enterprises. Located in a heritage-listed building in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, we are home to a community of artists, jewellers and craftspeople. We maintain and run jewellery classes from our specialised jewellery workshop. At Gaffa we pride ourselves on fostering an approachable and supportive space within Sydney’s creative community.


Our team at Gaffa is friendly andsupportive of our members’ creative practices. We work hard, but are always upfor a good laugh and a serious chat about all things art, craft and design.


As the Gallery and Workshops Assistant you will be working closely with the Operations and Gallery coordinator to schedule classes, manage events and help out with building maintenance. You will be an all-rounder with excellent organisation skills who isn’t afraid to rollup your sleeves and undertake a little manual labour. You will be a team player who is able to maintain positive relationships with diverse groups of peoples.

Experience in event management

Experience working within the arts

Working with power tools and other practical skills

Knowledge of OHS procedures

Liaising with artists and designers

Developing marketing plans for exhibitions, events or workshops

An example of a project or situation in which you demonstrated strong organisational skills to achieve a positive outcome

Must be available Thursday - Saturday
