Gallery One, Two & Three

See-Saw: A collection of short stories (25 students, 5 mentors, 1 story)

'&Company' and 'The Company We Keep' (TCWK) in conjunction with Gaffa.

‘See-Saw / A collection of short stories’ is an exercise in highlighting the collaborative art form of storytelling over a variety of design disciplines. We invite 25 students, split into 5 groups, to interpret a single story within a given focus:

- Colour & Hierarchy
- Typography & Semantics
- Rhythm & Pattern
- Texture & Form
- Shape & Balance

Each group will be working alongside an industry professional as a source of guidance, direction and education. The public is invited to experience the story of their process to reach a visual solution via video display as each group will be assigned 2 days each to work within Gaffa Gallery. The final outcomes and interpretations will then be presented at Gaffa Gallery on the 7th of August, 2010, and will be open to the public till August 10.

PLEASE NOTE: For the duration of this exhibition Gaffa will be open to the public on Saturdays AND Sundays 11am-5pm

Keeper Gallery

First & Last

20 Contemporary Jewellers, emerging and established, recount their tails as they reminisce about their beginnings and contemplate the next direction in their careers.

The exhibition will consist of the first piece and last piece that these Jewellers have made and very literarily tells of stories about where these makers have come from, where they have been and ultimately where they are heading.
